LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Acclaimed sound editor Hemang Prajapati has
joined the upcoming feature film “Hangman,” starring Al Pacino.
“I’m very honored to join this very talented
production team,” Prajapati said. “Every movie is a team effort and becoming a
part of this extremely accomplished group of professionals is like a dream come
true. I am very excited!”
Written by Michael Caissie, Charles Huttinger and Phil
Hawkins and directed by Johnny Martin, “Hangman” tells the story of a homicide
detective who teams up with a criminal profiler to catch a serial killer whose
crimes are inspired by the children's game Hangman. The film is set for release
next year.
Led by Pacino as Detective Archer, the film stars Karl
Urban (“Dredd”), Brittany Snow (“Christy Davies”), Sarah Shahi (“Person of
Interest”), Joe Anderson and Jules Haven (“The Sinner”) and Michael Papajohn
(“Jurassic Park”).
As sound editor, Prajapati will help create film’s sound
effects and background to set the mood and atmosphere for the film.
“It’s an exciting movie with lots of fast paced action
which makes it a challenge and incredibly fun,” he said. “I always enjoy
challenging myself creatively when I take on a new project and add a new
dimension to the film through sound.”
Prajapati’s
work includes the upcoming films “Maximum Impact,” “Boogeyman Pop,” “Mermaid
Down,” “The Second Coming of Christ,” as well as commercials and short films. as well doing Surround Sound mixing for such
performers as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Heart, Great White, The Pretenders, Elvis
Costello, Cindy Lauper, Bonnie Raitt and others.
