Magnus Gunnarsson Set to Drop Debut Album

LOS ANGELES, Calif. –  Acclaimed music artist Magnus Gunnarsson taps his musical roots in his new album “No Place Like Home,” set for release in June.

“I’ve written many songs for the past few years and I’m very excited to be releasing them now,” he said. “I’ve already published three songs from the album and so far, and I’ve only gotten positive feedback so I think music fans will appreciate this new collection of songs.”

With such artists as Bjork, Sigurros, Of Monsters and Men and Kaleo, among others, Gunnarsson is the newest artist from Iceland who is making an impact on the music scene.  His “No Place Like Home,” is a collection of songs from the Iceland-born performer whose music has touched a chord with music fans since his arrival in 2015. The album is an eclectic blend of music that has been at the heart of his music such as alternative rock, country, pop, rhythm and blues and classic rock.

“I think the influences of the album come from all the music I’ve been around since a child. It all comes together in my album and shapes the music I’m making today. I didn’t write any song trying to write like another artist or a band,” he said. “My dad introduced me to the Beatles, Eagles, Pink Floyd, and all those great bands so that’s what I grew up listening to and I believe my music style comes from those eras but transformed into a more modern sound.”

The album includes the new single “If Today Makes Tomorrow All Right,” which was written by Gunnarsson’s father originally with the bridge written by the artist himself. The song was released on his father’s birthday on May 4.

“I love the idea that the melody is 40 years old and I stumbled on it by an accident when I asked my dad to play on my guitar last summer,” he recalled. “He played the melody and I thought it was beautiful, so I decided to make a song out of it.”

The new album is the culmination of lifelong journey for Gunnarsson whose passion for music began early on. Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, Gunnarson grew up listening to the Beatles, Pink Floyd and others before taking up the guitar and exploring his own musical leanings. Even as he explored his music, the young musician became a standout tennis player, ultimately joining Iceland’s National Tennis Team and traveling the world for a number of competitions.

With a grandfather who served as an Olympic sprinter, Gunnarson’s interest in sports led him to earn a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Sport Science at the University of Reykjavik. But music was his true passion as he decided to embark on a music career that would take him to the U.S. and the establishment of his band Dirty Drive and the launch of his own solo career with a string of hit singles in his native country.

“I wanted to work with the best musicians so I moved to Los Angeles so the decision wasn’t difficult, but the process wasn’t easy. There’s a lot to think about before moving to another country and studying abroad,” he said. “My family gave me great support, they knew that I wanted to pursue music and that I had talent for it.”

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Acclaimed Brazilian guitarist Rob Reischak is joining noted jazz band Vaud and the Villains for its current summer tour.

“I am thrilled to join the band and be a part of its ongoing legacy,” Reischak said. “Vaud and the Villains have been one of the more influential jazz bands today, bringing a dynamic and melodic sound to today’s music scene.”

Reischak comes to the band after working on his solo tour which included a performance last month at the iconic Whisky a Go Go with actress/singer Glennellen Anderson who is known for her recurring role in the Netflix horror drama “Stranger Things.”

Vaud and the Villains is known for its eclectic performances that feature traditional jazz along with a full-blown cabaret show that features costumes, live singing and dancing that echo a bygone era.

The talented guitarist has been the focus of much attention in recent years, thanks to his unique melodic stylings that blend, pop, rock, jazz and rhythm and blues which have earned him legions of new fans along with accolades and acclaim.

Born in Porto Alegre, in Brazil’s Southern region, Rob took up the guitar at age 14 after he saw his friends take guitar lessons. But as he entered college to study a mechanical engineering while continuing to play local clubs, he realized his future in music lay in America and not in his native land. So he saved his money from performing and from his full time job and was soon off to Los Angeles where he enrolled in Hollywood’s acclaimed Musicians Institute.

“Since I started playing the guitar I had this dream of studying music in the US. The music and musicians that I used to listen to and to study from were all from here. I wanted to go to the place where that music was happening,” he said.

After graduating with honors from the Musicians Institute, Reischak found himself performing on other bands’ records and live shows, gaining a reputation for creative riffs and solos and solid musicianship as well as the ability to go from one genre to another with ease. His talents soon took him to Vaud and the Villains where he has flourished and helped give the jazz band a more modern sound.

Among the musicians he’s recorded with in the studio and performed with are the singer/songwriter Alexandria Corn, the keyboardist Henry Soleh Brewer (Earth, Wind & Fire), and the producer Albert Lim, to name a few. He’s also set to record the next Vaud and the Villains’ album this year.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. –  After much work in the recording studio, hip hop child prodigy Els is releasing her first singles, “Slide” and What Els,” featuring the talents of Silento and Zay Hilfigerrr. Both singles are now available on iTunes, Spotify and elsewhere.

At just 9 years old, the Indonesian singing sensation is showcasing her youthful talents in two new releases that blend hip hop and pop music into uniquely crafted music that accentuate Els’ vocal range and talents.

They are amazing musicians who brought their special magic to each track!”

Els, who was born Elisakh Hagia in Jakarta, Indonesia, is today making her recording industry debut with her two new singles after years of honing her skill as a singer before audiences in her native land. Els gained a love for music at an early age when her mother used it to help the toddler learn how to talk. By age 4, her passion for hip hop music was evident as she exhibited a skill for singing and dancing before going on to perform for audiences in her hometown and other neighboring communities.

Her love for hip hop led her to write to her idol, noted rapper Silento about the possibility of working together. Known for the hit single “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae),” which has more than a billion views on YouTube, Silento soon agreed to collaborate with the young ingĂ©nue on a new song which ultimately became the single “Slide.”

“‘Slide’ was inspired by all the bad news I was hearing in the media and all the negativity on social media,” Els said. “I don’t people should hate each other. I wish we could spread a happy virus to one another so everyone would feel better. But I hope everyone will listen to ‘Slide’ let all that negativity wash away and get back to feeling happy.”

The second single, “What Els,” came about after notable Zay Hilfigerrr saw Els performing on stage and offered to collaborate on her next project. The two got together and crafted the single that is already poised to become a bonafide hit for the young performer. Hip hop trap, with a world pop feel.

The child prodigy’s talent is already getting noticed by recording industry professionals:
