Ed Sheeran to Appear in Premiere of MTV's Reboot of 'TRL'

NEW YORK, NY – MTV has unveiled global star and singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and hip-hop’s hottest multi-platinum trio Migos as the first guests for the highly anticipated “TRL” when they perform live on the Monday, October 2nd premiere.

“TRL” will air LIVE weekdays at 3:30 p.m. ET from MTV’s newly expanded Times Square studio.  “TRL” is hosted by D.C. Young Fly and the TRL squad which includes Tamara Dhia, Amy Pham, Erik Zachary, Lawrence Jackson and content creators such as Liza Koshy and The Dolan Twins.

The daily live show will air from the network’s iconic Times Square studio and become the prime destination for youth culture and a meeting point for millions of fans. The show will integrate linear, social and digital elements and bring teen passion points to life, while continuing to incorporate audience requests.

With the linear property as its anchor, TRL is an always-on content engine for MTV, with the brand extending into multiple digital and social environments. Clips from the main show will be distributed to social media in real time, supplemented by original digital segments, short-form social videos and blog posts. Additionally, there will be an official TRL show on Musical.ly, airing on Mondays and Thursdays.

Christina Milian to Host MTV's '90s House' Premiering Sept. 26

LOS ANGELES – Christina Milian will join Lance Bass as host of MTV’s highly anticipated new series “90’s HOUSE,” premiering Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 11 PM ET/PT.  90’s fan-favorite guest stars include Mario Lopez, Tatyana Ali, Michelle Williams, Joey Fatone, Marques Houston, Tyson Beckford, Salt N’ Pepa, Kid N’ Play, Bill Bellamy, Joey Lawrence, Kel Mitchell Lori Beth Denberg and more.

The competition show places 12 millennial housemates in a 90’s inspired house that forces the young adults to officially unplug their modern-day devices and party like it’s 1990. With only the technology, catch phrases and fashion from that decade, each episode opponents will face elimination by competing in various 90’s themed challenges. The raddest contestant will win $90K, a Mazda Miata and tickets for two on board the Ship-Hop I Love the 90’s Cruise.

Milian is a multi-talented phenomenon whose career has spanned multiple, chart topping records including “Between Me and You, “AM to PM,” and the two time Grammy-nominated “Dip It Low,” from her second studio album, “It’s About Time.” Her co-songwriting credits include: “Play” (Jennifer Lopez), “Baby” (Justin Bieber), and “Walk Away” (Paula DeAnda).  Milian’s talents extend across all aspects of entertainment from “The Voice,” “Dancing with the Stars,” to starring as Magneta, in the remake of “Rocky Horror Picture Show.”  In addition, Milian has also starred in major films like “Baggage Claim,” “Love Don’t Cost a Thing,” “Be Cool,” and “Bring It On: Fight to the Finish.” Currently,Milian stars in the unscripted series, “Superhuman.”

Lance Bass is the quintessential illustration of a highly successful and driven jack-of-all-trades: singer, host, actor, producer, writer, entrepreneur, philanthropist and cosmonaut.  Beyond his fame as a member of the phenomenally successful group *NSYNC, where the group sold an impressive 60 million plus records worldwide, Bass has made himself a household name throughout the globe. Green Day to be Honored with Global Icon Award at MTV Europe Music Awards

NEW YORK – The 2016 MTV EMAs just got a little more punk with the addition of global phenomenon Green Day to the star-studded lineup. The award-winning band will rock the stage at Ahoy Rotterdam and receive the MTV Global Icon Award at the 2016 MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday, November 6, airing at 8:00 p.m. EST in the U.S. Joining Green Day are additional presenters, including chart-topping rapper G-Eazy, pop superstar Charli XCX, global hip-hop artist Tinie Tempah and multi-talent actor-musician Idris Elba.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and three-time MTV EMA “Best Rock” winning band Green Day has sold millions of records worldwide and released dozens of chart-topping singles over the last two decades. Revolution Radio, the band’s 12th studio album featuring hit single “Bang Bang,” was released this October to great critical and fan acclaim, and the group is up for two additional EMAs at this year’s show, including “Best Live” and “Best Rock.” 

With an incredible body of work that reflects the complexities of the time in which it was created, the rock trio has taken their music into exciting new mediums over the years, including the creation of the musical American Idiot based on Green Day’s multi-platinum selling album by the same name and the 2016 film Ordinary World starring frontman Billie Joe Armstrong and featuring an original song by the band. As recipients of the MTV Global Icon award, Green Day joins a coveted list of some of the biggest names in music of all time, including Duran Duran (2015), Ozzy Osbourne (2014), Eminem (2013), Whitney Houston (2012), Queen (2011) and Bon Jovi (2010).
