Netflix to Debut 'Story of a Crime' Anthology Series Inspired by Real Events


LOS ANGELES – Netflix, the world's leading internet entertainment service, today announced the Story of a Crime , a new anthology series about controversial crimes that have shaken different countries for decades and that generated social confusion, accusations of corruption and the search for justice.

"We are thrilled to explore new formats, invest in international talent and partner with the best storytellers from around the world to create content that travels and resonates globally," said Erik Barmack, vice president of International Originals at Netflix. "Crime is a very popular genre around the world, and we are very excited to bring this new anthology series proposal, with an international touch, to Netflix members everywhere," he added.

The first season of the franchise will feature the case of Luis Donaldo Colosio, the politician and Mexican presidential candidate who was killed in a campaign event in Tijuana in 1994. The 8-episode season will begin production this week in Mexico City and will be available exclusively to Netflix members worldwide in 2019.

The series is produced by Dynamo for Netflix and starring Jorge A. Jiménez ( Narcos, Machete Kills, Hermoso silencio ), Ilse Salas ( Cantinflas, Sr. 'vila ), Alberto Guerra ( Ingobernable, The Lord of the Skies ), Gustavo S'nchez Parra ( Amores perros, Hombre en llamas ), Mart'n Altomaro ( Mita and mita, Rudo y Cursi ), Lisa Owen ( The Lord of the Skies, The Unusual Catfish ) and Ari Brickman ( Sense8, Refunds are not accepted ), among others. With Rodrigo Santos as the main script writer, Historia de un Crimen : Colosio will be produced by Andrés Calder'n and Juan Uruchurtu, and directed by Hiromi Kamata and Natalia Berist'in.

'Magnum P.I.' Begins Production with a Hawaiian Blessing Ceremony




LOS ANGELES – CBS’ new drama MAGNUM P.I. kicked off production this week in Honolulu with a traditional Hawaiian blessing in honor of its host Hawaiian culture.

Series stars Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton and Stephen Hill, as well as the producers, including Executive Producer Peter M. Lenkov, and the entire MAGNUM P.I. crew, participated. Kahu (Officiant) Kordell Kekoa officiated over the ceremony, which included traditional royal maile leis, Oli Aloha (welcoming chant), and Pule Ho’oku’u (closing prayer). The ceremony honored the commitment of those involved in the original series as all in attendance looked forward to a successful start to this new incarnation. MAGNUM P.I. premieres Monday, Sept. 24 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The Complete Third Season of 'Blindspot' Comes to DVD and Blu-Ray

LOS ANGELES – A new set of tattoos emerges, a bounty is put on Jane and the rest of Weller’s FBI team is kidnapped. Season three of “Blindspot,” the compelling NBC crime drama, starts off with a bang as more intriguing secrets are revealed. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment brings all the mystery and excitement to consumers with the release of “Blindspot: The Complete Third Season,” available on DVD August 21, 2018.

 From creator Martin Gero (“Bored to Death,” “The L.A. Complex”) and Berlanti Productions (“Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl”), “Blindspot: The Complete Third Season” features 22 intriguing episodes plus extras, including a new featurette, deleted scenes, and a gag reel. “Blindspot: The Complete Third Season” will retail for $39.99 SRP. The non-stop adrenaline rush continues in the third electrifying season of “Blindspot.” Following the shocking second season finale, which revealed a new set of bioluminescent tattoos that mysteriously appeared on Jane Doe’s body, season three jumps forward two years as FBI Agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton, “300: Rise of an Empire,” “Strike Back”) finally tracks down Jane (Jaimie Alexander, “Thor” films, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”), who has been on the run. After the two discover her new hidden tattoos, Jane is forced to return to the FBI, where Weller, Jane and the rest of the team set out to solve these new puzzles and stop the dangerous conspiracies they reveal. The tattoos however, reveal the team’s darkest secrets.

Originally premiering on NBC in 2015, “Blindspot” tells the story of a mysterious woman (Alexander) who is found in Times Square with her body completely covered in intricate, coded tattoos. With no memories of her past, she is clueless about her own identity. Dubbed Jane Doe, she is investigated by the FBI when they learn one of her mysterious tattoos bears the name of agent Kurt Weller. As the FBI investigates the complex treasure map of her body, an ever-widening web of conspiracy and corruption is revealed.
