LOS ANGELES - Michael Weatherly has confirmed he is
leaving the long-running CBS procedural drama “NCIS” at the end of the
season.
Weatherly has been
playing played Special Agent Tony DiNozzo for 13 seasons. The actor made
the announcement confirmed on Twitter. “DiNozzo is a wonderful,
quixotic character & I couldn’t have had more fun playing him over
the past 13 seasons,” Weatherly wrote.“Les Moonves & CBS gave me the
opportunity of a lifetime,” he explained. “I will miss the amazing crew
& cast, who are like family to me, & to the fans all over the
world – THANK YOU, it’s been a fantastic ride!”
The
show tells the stories involving cases of the Naval Criminal
Investigative Service's Washington DC Major Case Response Team, led by
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs played by Mark Harmon.
